Nelson knocked down five treys and scored a team-high 24 points. The veteran point guard also helped his team handing out 10 assists. Behind Nelson were four other Magic players who scored in double-digits.

The win ends the Magic's seven home-game losing streak. The crowd of 16,317 rose to its feet at the end of the game applauding the Magic's efforts.

Sixers guard Jrue Holiday, who had a miserable shooting night (4-of-15), missed two critical free throws which could have tied the game with 2:15 to play. Afflalo hit a jumper on the Magic's next possession to put the Magic up four points, and Philly never got closer than that the rest of the way.

Philadelphia forward Thaddeus Young torched the Magic with a game-high 26 points on 13-of-17 shooting, but his efforts weren't enough to help his team grab a win.

Rookie power forward Andrew Nicholson didn't scratch head coach Jacque Vaughn's rotation. Instead, sophomore forward Tobias Harris filled in, scoring 15 points in 38 minutes of playing time. The start was Harris' second straight.

Nik Vucevic tallied a double-double of 14 points and 17 rebounds.

The Orlando Magic host the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night at 7 pm. It will also mark the first time Dwight Howard returns to face his former team.
