It was close. It was a very close game indeed, but the Orlando Magic fell to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, 111-106, to fall to 14-26 on the season. During the fourth quarter, J.J. Redick brought Orlando within two points with 25 seconds remaining.
Orlando held a 14-point lead in the first quarter, but wasn't able to secure the win.
The Magic's defense has dwindled: Sunday, the team allowed seven Mavericks players to score in double-digits and yielded 51 percent shooting overall.
The Mavericks also scored 48 points in the paint, 22 fast-break points and 24 points off the Magic's 14 turnovers.
Glen Davis led the Magic with 24 points and added six rebounds, six assists, two steals, and a blocked shot. Behind him was Jameer Nelson and three other Magic players scoring in double-digits.
Interestingly, the Orlando is 1-8 when Nelson scores 20-plus points. Sunday was his 12th consecutive contest where he scored in double digits.
Rookie power forward Andrew Nicholson didn't see any playing time in the loss.
Orlando will hit the road to play the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night at 7:30 PM.
