In all seriousness though why would he ever say anything but this?

“Uhh yeah, we’re really looking into shipping out J Rich or J.J. for some post presence at the moment”

I mean c’mon lol

those are great examples

Excuse me while I whip this out.

I think what gator is essentially saying is

Nobody, GM or coach, ever really says what may or may not happen. Especially Magic Management. So putting up a quote from Van Gundy on this matter is an exercise in futility. It means nothing and informs nobody. Might as well type up a quote from Otis dancing around the issue. Examples unneeded.

Stan's a straight shooter

No, he’s not going to throw anyone on the team under the bus, but if trades were being discussed with him, I suspect he would have used different terminology to duck the question.

Exactly.

Yeah..means nothing

Trading J rich for Camby would be a nice move in my opinion. Arenas could play more 2..Hedo point forward, and we would have a quality big that expires in 2012.

Hell no

Arenas is garbage and Camby said he’d possibly retire if he was traded. Plus, how does that make any sense for Portland? They have Wes Matthews, Brandon Roy & Rudy Fernandez @ the 2. They have no need for him.

by Ol' Uncle Munnerlyn on Feb 22, 2026 4:32 PM EST up reply actions

We need arenas to shoot..

If he shoots, he gets out of the slump and earns some of his max salary.

Portland would have J rich and Wesley getting the majority of minutes and would save cash as well when he expires.

Camby has been in trade talks for a while now. He is not going to retire if he gets to make a title run next to Dwight.

Or he continues to shoot 35 percent.

Also, Camby's wife and kids live in Portland and, apparenty, love it there. I think he'd strongly consider retiring.

No matter how many shoots Gil takes, he is not a good shooter. Nothing will ever change that.

Okay, a simple "wrong" would've done just fine.
Hello, handsome, is that a ten-gallon hat or are you just enjoying the show?

Gilbert arenas can score the ball and is a streak shooter...

we have not seen that yet here but it does not mean it wont happen. I guess I am not as negative as some of you.

and a lot of players wives and kids like where they are at..doesn’t mean they won’t get traded.

From Camby's agent
"It was incredibly important to him when he signed his extension and moved his family that he stay in Portland. I think by now he understands it’s a business, but that’s where he wants to be.’’

also not trying to argue with your logic because it makes sense

I just think the Magic have already inquired about Camby and if he wanted to play here (and a trade works out), it would improve the team defensively.
