[Dwight] Howard showed little interest in playing offense or defense, didn’t block a single shot, and half of his four field goal attempts were from beyond the arc. That’s not what you want to see from Dwight Howard.

Oh I know but that's Dwight's nature...to have a good time.

Seems like a couple of outlets are bashing him for basically participating in “a guard’s game”

Dwight wanted to add the three to his offensive repertoire so that we can finally run Stan's 5 out, 0 in Offense.

It would still be 4-out/1-in....

remember, Bass doesn’t shoot 3’s.

Ryno in the lineup?

Arenas-Redick- Q-Rich?-Ryno- Murphy is pretty much a 3 pt. shooting team.

True.

But I was talking about when Bass is on the floor.

by GameManager on Feb 22, 2026 9:52 PM EST up reply actions

when he was commenting on the dunk contest

Charles Barkley mentioned that Dwight had been feeling fluish since he’d gotten there. I’m more inclined to believe that had to do with his “loser” play than anything else.

And also, IT WAS THE ALL-STAR GAME. GIVE ME A BREAK.

Excuse me while I whip this out.

Thought I heard that..

He was probably recovering from his party on Friday night. I wonder if he drinks now?

by Colossus57 on Feb 21, 2026 2:26 PM EST up reply actions

I choose to believe

He was hung over and fatigued from his sexy parties Friday and Saturday night.

who cares.....

It was just the silly NBA all star game…………..

by roger40 on Feb 21, 2026 1:07 PM EST reply actions

I don´t care that he play bad. Still it would be nice if he played better.

Shaq managed to get 3 All Stars MVP while playing with the likes of Francis, Kobe and Ray Allen. If Shaq could win it in 2009 there is no “perimeter league” excuse. Kobe, MJ, Lebron won it several times. Even dull Tim Duncan did it! All star games might be meaningless but everyone remembers MJ winning the dunk contest, Bird winning several 3 point contests. I mean, all time greats usually leave their mark in these games.

Maybe he wanted to help Kobe win MVP

HELLO JOHN! IT WAS AN ALLSTAR GAME. NOT REGULAR SEASON, NOT PLAYOFFS, NOT CONFERANCE TITTLE GAME, OR THE FINALS. BUT ALLSTAR GAME, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS FOR THE FANS AND PLAYERS TO HAVE FUN. I DON’T KNOW MAYBE I’M THE WRONG TYPE OF FAN OR NOT WATCHING WHAT YOU ARE WATCHING. DWIGHT GOT FROZE OUT OF THE GAME AFTER THE FIRST QUATER AND HE SAW WHAT WAS COMING. DOC IS THE COACH WITH FOUR OF HIS PLAYERS THE TEAM AND THEN HE LIKES BOSH MORE THAN HOWARD (LIKE BOSH IS A REAL BIG MAN, ROTFLMAO!!!!!) GET OVER IT. IT WAS JUST AN EXHIBITION. CAN YOU SAY THAT?

Rec'd. Green this because it is awesome.

I guess that's the way the whole durned human comedy keeps perpetuatin' itself.

Mr. Krolik pops in every now and then.

Less likely now that the Magic won’t be playing the Cavs any time soon…

Sure; that's one way to see it...

By this same logic; Kobe is then clearly overreacting; overextending himself by actually giving it all in such a meaningless game… what a monumental waste of time and effort!

Of course, every superhero should decide WHICH game is important; when should he put in his best effort. Thinking back to that first NBA Championship by Shaquille O’Neil in LA… should he have poured his heart out in the first game; or, that last game? Should Jordan played HARDER on his first Chicago Championship, or his last? Does anyone see ANY difference in energy/effort on Kobe’s playing effort, in ANY of his Finals performances? Any takers?

No? Then, how about this "other" view…

In the history of the NBA, only those teams having a key player with a clear grasp of what it takes, and the drive to do whatever is necessary to do it, actually win a Championship. Willis Reed in NY; Larry Bird in Boston; Magic Johnson in LA; of course, Jordan in Chicago and now Kobe Bryan in La… they had it, which is why they were THE MEN of the moment.

Kobe is the focus of this post, for he has PROVEN time after time that he pursues his quest with unrelenting effort. He ALWAYS gives his best, even when making a mistake, from time to time… He NEVER gives up, or drops his game intensity… EVER!

Now, to our man Howard I say this: There is NO game too small to overlook, to insignificant to dismiss, especially the All-Star Game. When he learns this… and LIVES by it; then he will be ready to win a Championship. And the players around him will show the same determination and relentless drive.
