    Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel says Orlando Magic free-agent forward Matt Barnes is nearing a deal with his new team, and could announce it soon. According to Robbins, Barnes' representatives have denied that the Magic ever offered him a deal, as OrlandoMagic.com's John Denton wrote earlier this week.

    Barnes' new team could be the Boston Celtics, according to A. Sherrod Blakely, who reports that Boston is "in the home stretch for" him. I don't doubt Blakely's sources, but signing there wouldbe strange, considering he'd have to accept a paycut.
