If Otis does this then he SHOULD be fired

Changed link to go directly to source, instead of through RealGM
More interesting, to me, is that Howard is pushing the Magic to get a Turk-like player.

Did Dwight really said that or is it just aftermath of Otis' presser ?

Am I the only person that thinks this would be a good move?
Arenas would give us a combo guard that can run the point, shoot the 3, and get his own shot. Other than the character issues I think he would be a great fit for Orlando especially if we can ship Vince to D.C. in exchange for him.

You really want another Grant Hill situation?
An injury prone max contract player. Arenas has the WORST contract in the NBA right now. If we waste VC expiring on him the Orlando Magic will be screwed for years.

Is ther any way to restructure his current contract?
I don’t think it’s fair to compare Gilbert Arenas to Grant Hill. Arenas is a pure scorer that can play multiple positions and carry any team that he’s on.
Look, I don’t know about the guy as a person because I’ve never met him. All I’m saying is that he could help us get back to where we were supposed to be last season.

No restructuring contracts in the NBA; all contracts are guaranteed.
The only way the Magic wouldn’t have to pay him $20 million a year is if the Wizards buy him out of his contract and he signs elsewhere for a reasonable price but even that is very unlikely.

Okay I'm not attacking you here but
1) The Arenas/Hill comparison is fair when it comes to the injury prone label. Agent 0 cant help the team when he misses full seasons at a time
2) The formentioned comparison isnt fair because Hill was a good locker room guy that DIDNT PULL A GUN ON A FELLOW TEAMMATE
3) Arenas is a VOLUME scorer. He is willing to sacrifice a win as long as he “gets his” (numbers). You cant win it all with these guys on your team
4) Arenas is a god awful defender. So your completely wrong in thinking he can play multiple positions. Can he line up at SG and SF? Yes but he cant be effective on both ends of the court.
5)How far did the Wizards get with him leading the team? So he can carry the team, just not very far

A couple things
If you think Arenas would/could ever line up at SF (guarding the Melo’s, Durant’s, and James’ of the league) you’re nuts. I never said that. When I said he could play multiple positions I was referring to him playing PG and SG. As for him being a God awful defender, I’ll just say what gets tossed around in these message boards all the time about bad defenders (a la Jameer Nelson). When you have the defending two time DPOY on your team the perimeter defenders need to be able to close out on shooters and funnel them to Howard.

Jameer Nelson isn't a bad defender.

I am by no means a Jameer hater
There’s been discussions on more than one occasion about Jameer’s defensive capabilities.

No he would not. The Magic are better off with Carter.
