Citing "multiple sources," Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard has left Aaron Goodwin, who has represented him since the Magic made Howard the first pick of the 2004 NBA Draft.

I think he is upset with the way he is getting called by officials and wants an agent that will get in the ear of the league, and I was saying that Lebron’s agent was gonna come calling (as a joke) to get Dwight more favorable calls.
Basically, if you read playing for keeps, some agents can and do have a lot of power with the league.

This is really strange considering how many endorsements Dwight has
He & his agent have clearly worked pretty hard building a successful marketing image.
The only thing I can think of that would precipitate cutting ties at such an unusual time would be a major personal disagreement between the two of them. Could be money-related but I feel like Dwight would wait till the offseason if that were the mitigating factor.

Apart from the timing, here's another strange thing: how successful they've been. LeBron and Kobe make more money from endorsements, but Dwight has more of them overall. McDonald's, Sprite, Ed Hardy, adidas...
It’s not like the Goodwins have done poorly.
I really, really, really hope he knows what he’s doing here.

I think many of us fear that he is making a mistake
Myy fear would be one of his “friends” convinced Dwight that he could do the job. That type of situation can lead to disaster, embezzlement, etc., etc.

Just read a few things about Antoine Walker. From being a millionaire to being broke because he was supporting financially ~500 of his friends in luxury. This - besides the shimmy - let to his failure. Being nice is not always the best thing.

I don't understand why Dwight did this.
But I don’t have to. I just hope I don’t read a story down the line why Dwight ended up broke. Aaron Goodwin is a good agent, and has been for a long time. Interesting timing of it all really, but we’ll see.
