Hedo Turkoglu will celebrate his 30th birthday today. A role player in his first three years with the Magic, he enjoyed breakout success last season under Stan Van Gundy, winning the league's Most Improved Player award. Although his play has regressed this season, his versatility is nonetheless one of the keys to Orlando's recently joining the league's elite. Unfortunately, today might be Turk's last birthday with the Magic. He can become an unrestricted free agent this summer, and will have no shortage of suitors, even in this economic climate. Noted NBA scribe/trainer David Thorpe told our very own erivera7 that he believes Turkoglu will stay here. Encouraging, to say the least.
Many happy returns, Hedo.
