The Orlando Magic can set a new franchise record for consecutive road wins tonight when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers; Orlando last lost a game on the road exactly one month ago, when the Oklahoma City Thunder ran it off the court at the Ford Center by a 28-point margin. L.A. has compiled a respectable 9-11 record despite not having Blake Griffin, the top overall selection in this year's draft, available due to a left knee injury. As Steve Perrin points out, the Clippers have enjoyed an easy schedule so far, and their lone "quality" win came 18 days ago when Rasual Butler popped off for 27 points, which Perrin believes is an "outlier." For those reasons, Perrin doesn't think the Clippers will win tonight. That makes one of us, because I'm eating at Five Guys tonight, and bad things happen to the Magic when I eat there.
Sophisticated analysis!
For more on tonight's game and the Clippers, I refer you to Eddy's preview/chat with Kevin Arnovitz of ClipperBlog.
Last year on this date, the Clippers blitz the Magic in the second and third periods to take a 9-point lead into the fourth, but Orlando began the period with a 22-2 run to rally for a victory. The Clippers seemed to surprise the Magic when they didn't just quit after starting the game in a 14-2 hole. Maybe this time the Magic won't get caught off guard if/when the Clippers make a run.
