Eddy already told you the buzz about tonight's matchup between the Orlando Magic and the Miami Heat, and I don't have much to add, except that the Heat have kind-of dropped off a cliff. As Basketball Prospectus predicted, Miami hasn't maintained its elite defense with which it started the season. About the only thing it still does well on that end is guard the three-point line: the Heat are 4th in eFG% defense.
The Magic will probably not bother trying to stop Dwyane Wade, who's tortured them in each of the last few seasons. Instead, they'll look to shut down the Heat's secondary options, chiefly second-year combo forward Michael Beasley.
On offense, the Magic should stick with their three-point-happy offense, but should also work the ball inside to Dwight Howard if the three-balls aren't falling. Jermaine O'Neal is an excellent defensive center, but he can be beat. After him, it's Joel Anthony and Jamaal Magloire. Get him in foul trouble, or winded, and go to work from there.
Tip's at 7:30. See you then.
