A little over six months ago, I started the original Third Quarter Collapse over at Blogspot. At the time, I stated my purpose in this way:
The purpose of this blog is simple: to comment on the past, present, and future of the Orlando Magic. I feel as though I am qualified to comment for the following reasons:
- I have lived in Orlando my entire life.
- I have previously been a Magic season ticketholder.
- I remember Danny Schayes.
Those reasons, more or less, make me just as reputable as, say... Brian Schmitz. But qualifications aren't really necessary; this is, after all, the internet.
Times have changed, but the mission is the same: I still love the Magic and I still love covering them. It's a pleasure to now be a part of SBNation and its great network of sports bloggers.
The site's name should make sense to Magic fans. It seems to me that the Magic have blown more halftime leads in their franchise history than most other teams, and the franchise has a history of not coming up big when it counts. Yes, the name accentuates the negative, but be assured that I am not here to bash the Magic; rather, I'm here to examine them honestly and with as little bias as possible.
It's been an exciting offseason and the team has a bright future. I look forward to being a part of it.
