Memphis Grizzlies 123, Orlando Magic 119

"We’re 5-5 because we’re playing like (expletive) at home."

Not much to say about this game, as Stan Van Gundy pretty much nailed it in that quote. I have the game on the DVR, but knowing the outcome has deterred me from watching it, although I'll do it at some point. I'm disappointed that we're just 5-5 at home, frustrated that we've played such poor defense lately, and concerned that the Wizards are just three games back of us in the Southeast. And we can't continue to squander games when Dwight Howard goes nuts, as he did tonight: yet another 30/20 performance from the franchise center, yet another letdown from the team.

Rashard Lewis was a late scratch with neck pain that had bothered him since Monday. Maurice Evans started in his place and responded with 8 points on 3-of-11 shooting. 4 of his shots were blocked. How's that Ariza trade working out, Otis?

Not that I'm bitter or anything.

With Dallas, Houston, Utah, and Boston coming up, I'd say we're in deep you-know-what. I wonder if the Sentinel wishes it had saved the headline from Monday's loss to Atlanta -- HOME GROAN -- for tonight's game.

Gay

The Grizz were hitting everything they were throwing up at the rim and the D was powerless to stop them. I was really, really impressed with Rudy Gay. That kid was making shots no matter who was guarding him and making shots that he had no business making. We really missed Lewis as there where a few moments when his patent clutch three would have come in handy.
As for the trade... Um yeah, that’s not looking so good right now is it? Can we have a redo? lol

Re: Gay

My dad, who watched parts of the game, informed me that it was Navarro, not Gay, who killed us with some dagger threes. Manu lite, methinks. I plan on watching the second half later today. I'm sure it'll be bad for my blood pressure, but duty calls.

The trade may work out in the long run, but for right now Cook is basically Garrity and Evans can't hit a shot to save his life. Also, we're stuck with Cook for another three years. Hooray. At least Trevor could have frustrated Gay a little bit on defense. Watching Cook try to guard him was painful.
