OPP Community Mock Draft

Hey all, BigMac here. So I've wanted to do a Draft exercise for the last couple years now, but I've never had the time to set it up or see if there would be interest on the site. Luckily I actually thought about it in advance, thus this FanPost.

The thought process around this stems from the Mock Draft that has been a big success over at the Lions SBNation site, Pride of Detroit. Basically, you become the GM for a selected team and choose who you think would be the best player for that team, whether it be by fit, BPA, or simply because you like that player's name. The "GM" is then required to post a little explanation (a short paragraph or two) as to why they chose that player, how he'll fit into the team, and who else, if any, were on their Big Board when selecting. This is very important as there will be a poll at the end of each post to try to get an approval rating for each pick.

While it would ultimately be up to you, it's highly recommended you check out that team's SBNation site or an NBA mock draft site to research what your team might be missing on their roster and also to see which players that fan base is looking at as possible fits for their team.

This is a very basic rundown of how the whole thing would work, but I didn't want to make a long-winded post for something nobody wants to participate in. I'll ultimately make another post closer to the Draft Lottery with all the rules, GM openings, the schedule for picks, etc. if there's enough interest in the exercise. Anywho, thanks for reading and vote/leave a comment if this tickles your fancy.
