Been thinking about this since the draft. We've established a roster of young, extremely athletic, strong transition scorers, who have questions about their shooting. So why not adopt a (frenetically) fast break philosophy?
This maximizes our strengths, helps to mask our weaknesses, and most importantly it's entertaining as hell to watch! We have almost the perfect roster for it. My hope is that Vaughn and Hennigan are strongly considering this as well. With Dipo and Payton running the break, Harkless, and Gordon out on transition, and Vuc there to gobble up tons of defensive rebounds it all fits. We could also keep this up with our second unit with Harris and Quinn coming in! Add in that Frye is a perfect PF to be an outlet for 3 balls if the finish at the rim isn't there...
In a league where shooting is at the core philosophy of most offenses it doesn't hurt to take a Mark Cuban philosophy on things and go the other way. It makes us an outlier and the team that no one wants to play because preparing for us is so different.
Could be a lot of fun. Could make us a playoff team. Could also advance the progress of our young guys tremendously!
