A matter of first preference

As I sit, 80 hours to the commencement of the NBA draft. So much anticipation for an event that will last just a few hours, of course as a Magic fan, realistically grounded, we’ve actually been looking forward to it since last years draft lottery. I’ve been following closely through the recent Embiid injuries the Saric defection back to Europe, and the discussion here about Exum/Vonleh/ and "oh no" Marcus Smart. One thing did seem right though, with two lottery picks and a very tradeable Aaron Affalo the entire draft seemed one that would be interesting.

Then I read Chad Ford’s mock draft 9.0 (http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft/mock/?season=2014&version=10&source=Chad-Ford-Mock-Draft&preview=true) and while I don’t always agree with his analysis, he certainly has great NBA sources. Perhaps the most interesting tidbit was his report that the Magic called the Cavaliers offering the 4th, 12th , and Affalo for the #1 overall selection. That would certainly deny me a lot of draft viewing pleasure basically all our assets fired so quickly for one, potentially, great player. That’s obviously a large price and while he said the Cavs did not accept the deal(yet) it does bring my mind to an interesting exercise. IF that trade did happen, who would be your choice? Conventional wisdom would dictate one of the two healthy consensus potentially franchise altering players, the first would be Andrew Wiggins the other Jabari Parker. It also begs the question:

If you were the GM of the Magic would you make that trade offer, would you be willing to offer more if so how much?

If you traded up, who would be your selection, the salivatingly promising ultra athletic defensive guru Mr Andrew Wiggins? Or the skill set polished offensive weapon Jabari Parker?

- I’ll give my own response to these a bit later but I’m really curious as to the community opinion.
