I rarely comment on this site but am a huge Magic fan with a ton of time on my hands this week watching my infant son while wifey works so here goes...After spending time on brewhoop.com I have gained the sense that a lot of people over there really like Mr. Exum, possibly at their #2 spot or by acquiring our #4 pick. From the other teams ahead of us it seems that Cleveland is in love with Embiid at #1 while Philly has a ton of options but Orlando doesn't come up a whole lot. Of course these are fans not executives but in my opinion if Hennigan wants a stud like Wiggins or Parker the Bucks are the best option (assuming they're not too mad about getting fleeced for T-12). My first two thoughts were as follows:
1-We trade #4 plus Afflalo plus Nicholson for #2. I think Afflalo starts immediately for the Bucks and Nicholson would help off the bench. We address pg at #12 or next year via draft or FA.
2-We trade #4 and #12 plus another player (can't decide but Harkless or Nicholson come to mind) for #2. We address pg next year via draft or FA.
Our starting 5 next season:
pg-Jameer until he gets hurt
sg-VO (he can run point sometimes but needs time here).
sf-Wiggins or T12
pf-T12 or Parker
Why would Orlando do this?
Duh. There are 3 major stud muffins in this draft we get one.
Why would Orlando not do this?
Rob falls in love with Exum (risk/reward) or Smart (don't despise him like others here but don't love him either especially not at 4). Also may want to fill two needs in the lottery rather than one.
Why would Milwaukee do this?
As stated above, they may like Exum at 2 but know he will slide to 4. Why not move down two spots still get their guy plus other assets?
Why would Milwaukee not do this?
They were "Riggin for Wiggins" all along. They don't want to further alienate an already sketchy fanbase by skipping over a stud who would put butts in the seats. They aren't as high on Exum as I think. Something like that.
Thanks for reading. I will be interested to see some others' perspectives on this!
