There was a recent article published on potential landing spots for Love should the Wolves decide to move him this offseason (http://www.basketballinsiders.com/potential-trade-destinations-for-kevin-love/).
Question for OPP is - exactly how much would you be willing to give up for Love? The suggested trade scenario had Orlando sending Afflalo, Harkless and Harris to Minnesota for the rights to Love in the final year of his deal (player option 2015/16 season).
Personally, I do not think the suggested trade is enough to get the Wolves to pull the trigger. If they explore a trade they will have many suitors and the Magic would most likely get outbid. So I ask this:
In any situation would you give a top 3 pick for Love straight up?
If not, should Orlando land the 4th, 5th or 6th pick where would you draw the line?
I am doing my best to put myself in Minny's shoes - we were all there in 2012 and know how this works. Cap flexibility, young assets and draft selections are the name of the game and fetching fair market value will be next to impossible outside of perhaps a top pick.
In my opinion Afflalo, Harkless, Nicholson, the 12th and the Lakers future 1st (Dwight trade) could at least get the conversation started.
