Last year Orlando was expected to Draft Marcus Smart with the 2nd pick, but as he didn't declare they went with Oladipo. At the time Smart was seen clearly as the better prospect with HOF potential and Oladipo was seen as a "rich's man Tony Allen". Since then Smart's lack of development and character issues made his stock go down, while Oladipo is a serious candidate for Rookie of the year. How will this decision affect the team's future? Five years from now do you think Orlando will regret Smart not declaring and getting Oladipo instead?
So just for fun: let's imagine that Smart declared for the 2013 draft and that somehow you manage to get 1.21 gigawatts and travel back in time with the knowledge of both players you have today: who would you draft?
*Please let's try to have fun and not make this a holy war of "Oladipo is the next Wade, vs Oladipo is worse than Chris Duhon."
If you ask me Oladipo is clearly the better performing artist.
(this is supposed to be a GIF of Smart failing to flop, please click on it if it doesn't play)
