http://grantland.com/features/dallas-mavericks-monta-ellis-dirk-nowitzki-2014/ I recommend everyone at this site read this article. It proves how everyone is right and everyone is wrong all at the same time. Not going to go into too much detail about the article, since I can not hope to replicate the success that Kirk Goldsberry(someone who has MUCH more basketball sense than any of the posters[I don't mean the ediors or writers here just posters like myself] here do). So what does this have to do with the Magic? Again, you can not judge a basketball player based only on numbers. "...we forgot to consider how drastically different the two games are. In reality, baseball is only kind of a team sport; basketball is entirely a team sport.", Goldsberry states comparing how analytics has taken over baseball and it is becoming accepted truth in basketball. While yes a season is long time to predict the future, stats do not take into account situations, teammates, or the type of coaching a player is receiving. Also, keep this in mind for the upcoming draft. Watch Kansas, and you can see that Andrew Wiggins is being "contained" by his own coach. Again, stats do not tell the whole story. Take into context the situation, the style of play, the coach, the teammates. I only bring this article up because sometimes posters believe to much in their own belief that it makes for heated debates that just are not interesting and make others not want to engage in the community. Also I am on and older computer, could somebody please edit this to make it look proper? Much appreciated.
