The Magic may have a couple of contestants for February's All-Star break. Let's see if any of our players will visit NOLA for a All-Star experience.
Victor Oladipo- Rising Stars Challenge (Feb.14th 9pm on TNT)
When your a top 3 draft pick, you're basically already in the Rising Stars Challenge, unless your Anthony Bennett. Oladipo, is a complete lock for this challenge, as he's averaging 13.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.5 steals. Selected as the second pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, he's been showing his skills and crazy athleticism to prove something to the league--that he belongs here. This is the game where he can show some of his tricks, so it'll be exciting.
Arron Afflalo- Taco Bell Skills Challenge (Feb. 15th around 8:30pm on TNT)
No matter what you say, he's playing like a all-star this season. Averaging 20.2 points, and 4.5 rebounds, he's straight out balling. However, if he doesn't make the all-star game, he could possibly slither his way to the Skills Challenge, showcasing his many skills.
Victor Oladipo- Sprite Slam Dunk Contest (Feb.15th around 8:30pm on TNT)
Brian K Schmitz reported that Victor Oladipo would do the Dunk Contest if asked, and if the NBA wanted some viewers, they would ask him. I doubt that Oladipo doesn't get a invite. With Paul George, Dwight Howard, and obviously LeBron James turning the invitations down, they just may ask the high flying rookie. My suggestion for Oladipo if he makes it... Dress up as Spiderman to mock Dwight Howard's Superman. That'd be cool, right? Right?
Arron Afflalo- 63rd All-Star Game (Feb. 16th 8pm on TNT)
This is the least likeliest one, unfortunately. He's putting up great numbers, but it's not about how good you are, it's all about the popularity. Afflalo isn't that popular, nor is he on a good team, so the chances are tough for him. Not impossible, but close to unlikely he makes it. This is why fans shouldn't vote for these kind of things. Then again, even the Inside the NBA crew didn't choose him as all-star reserve. Once Orlando starts winning games again, I'm sure Afflalo will get more all-star looks, just not this season.
So yeah, only two players can legitimately make the all-star break for the Magic. But hey, two is better than none.
