Okay, so I am just daydreaming here so don't take any of this too seriously. I would love everyone's input in order to improve upon this idea, but I think we can nab 2 stars a la 2008 Celtics with all the assets we have. So who's out there? And what 2 pieces fit together and also go along with our 3rd piece (this could be Oladipo, or a draft pick this year)? Who's actually available? The first 2 that came to mind for me were Rondo and Kevin Love. I haven't even begun to work out the salaries or put this in trade machine so be easy on me and offer better ideas.
Orlando gets: Rajon Rondo
Boston gets: Omer Asik, Mo Harkless, (wonk)draft pick
Houston gets: Jameer Nelson, Celtic player, draft pick, Hedo Turkoglu
I threw Hedo in there but I don't know that any team would want him. The idea is that we get either Cleveland or Houston involved as they are eager to facilitate a trade that rids them of Bynum or Asik, respectively.
Orlando gets: Kevin Love
Minny gets: ('14 Orl) Draft pick, Andrew Nicholson, ('16 Orl) Draft Pick, Dion Waiters
Cleveland gets: Afflalo, O'Quinn
I wish there was a way we could keep one of our draft picks for this year, but this would make us instant contenders in a diluted East. I am sure there are many issues with salaries and draft picks, but I think this is a good start.
