Orlando's last time out: The Magic trailed by as many as 17 points on Monday against the New Orleans Hornets, and a three-pointer by former Orlando big man Ryan Anderson put the visiting Magic down by nine with 3:30 to play. But Orlando would rally for the 105-102 victory as Arron Afflalo hit the go-ahead jumper in traffic with 38.2 seconds to play. The veteran two-guard finished with a game-high 26 points on 10-of-20 shooting, with no turnovers, in one of his finest performances since joining Orlando in August.
Miami's last time out: The Heat set a franchise record on Monday by winning their 15th consecutive game. Dwyane Wade scored 32 points with seven boards and 10 assists to lead the Heat past the homestanding Minnesota Timberwolves by a 97-81 final.
The last meeting: Miami rang in the new year with a 112-110 overtime win in Orlando on December 31st. The Magic had possession and trailed by just two points with 17.7 seconds left in overtime, but Wade picked off a J.J. Redick pass and headed in for an uncontested score to ice the win for the Heat, who trailed by as many as 11 points in the second half.
