So the Magic have 21 games remaining in the season, and with the exception of Kyle O'Quinn (all hail, Harrington!), Jaque Vaughn is playing all of the Magic young players some serious minutes now.
I occasionally like to engage in mental exercises about averages to decompress from work, and I also obsess over players hitting the 10 point average range for their season average.
So I figure I would combine my two OCD tendencies and figure out what each of the young players would have to average to hit the 10 ppg mark by the end of the season. I decided to share my "findings" because I greatly admire each and every one of you and take great pleasure in boring people that I like.
The assumption is that every player will play all remaining 21 games.
The Rooks:
Maurice Harkless:
Current avg: 6.3 ppg (through 55 games)
Required avg to make 10 ppg: 19.7 ppg
Current avg: 8.4 ppg (58 games)
Required avg to make 10 ppg: 14.5 ppg
Current avg: 3.3 ppg (43 games)
Required avg to make 10 ppg: 23.8 ppg
Current avg: 3.0 ppg (28 games)
Required avg to make 10 ppg: 19.6 ppg
Kyle O'Quinn:
Current avg: 3.3 ppg (38 games)
Required avg to make 10 ppg: 22.2 ppg
The 2nd Year Players:
Current avg: 7.0 ppg (34 games)
Required avg to make 10 ppg: 14.9 ppg
E'Twaun Moore:
Current avg: 8.7 ppg (54 games)
Required avg to make 10 ppg: 13.3 ppg
Current avg: 12.1 ppg (61 games)
Required avg to screw everything up: 3.6 ppg
