Jameer Nelson - USA TODAY Sports
Jacque Vaughn told the media that Nelson, who has missed Orlando's last six games with a knee contusion, wil play Monday.
After a six-game absence, Jameer Nelson will return to the Orlando Magic's starting lineup for Monday's game against the New Orleans Hornets, coach Jacque Vaughn said, according to John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com.
In the Magic's loss to the Dallas Mavericks on February 20th, Nelson suffered a contusion to the patellar tendon in his right knee and left the game. Second-year man E'Twaun Moore started in his place, averaging 11.3 points, 7.3 assists, and two turnovers on 39.4 percent shooting from the field as the Magic went 1-5.
Nelson has missed 17 games with various injuries in 2012/13. He is in the first season of a three-year contract he signed in July. Orlando's longest-tenured player is averaging 14.5 points and a career-best 7.4 assists in his ninth season out of St. Joseph's.
