As we get closer and closer to the end of the season it becomes more evident that the only thing we have left to root for is that we cheer on our young guys and hope to see improvement and sparks of brilliance from the select few which bodes well on our future. Also, the draft. Its what all bad teams look forward to. As the season raps up, we take a look at the standings we sit only in front of charlotte for the leagues worst record. (that sounds kinda of funny when you read it over)
So as i examine the crop that we could get in the top 3 at the worst I say my favorite prospects would go like this,
1. Marcus Smart as a combo guard he is averaging 15.1 ppg, 4.3 apg and 5.7 rebs. Now Smart would need a lot of work with Jameer over the next couple years to become a key starter in the future, working on his court vision, his decision making, and all over make up of what it would take to be a pg on the next level, but Jameer taking on a mentor role I believe he could be a key piece in the future. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eclOw60dITg
2. Ben Mclemore, while small for a SG at 6'5 Mclemore is a great scorer, and has shown above average athleticism, he is averaging 16.7 ppg 5.3 reb and 2.1 apg while he is more of a high volume scorer we need a guy who can make his own shot and score off the dribble, we have afflalo, but he could be a great young addition to the team. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPm1RBynUpY
3. Alex Len, while many people dont know him, he is a guy who can come and make an immediate impact on the next level. The 7'1 C is a intimidating presence on both sides of the ball, while he is averaging He is averaging 11.8 ppg and 9.1 rpg at Maryland, we could pair him with Vucevic and maybe try and move KOQ to the PF position. He would be a reach at 2-3 position but if we were to move out of the top 5, he could be an option. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IknKniuYCic
Well those are my 3 favorites of this draft, please feel free to make your case of "If you were the magic gm who would you draft?
