Hakim Warrick - Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

The veteran big man, acquired Thursday from Charlotte, isn't in Orlando's future plans.

The Orlando Magic will likely waive Hakim Warrick, reports Sam Amick of USA Today. Orlando acquired Warrick from the Charlotte Bobcats at Thursday's NBA trading deadline in exchange for Josh McRoberts.

Warrick, 30, is averaging 6.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in 2012/13, which season he's spent split between the New Orleans Hornets and the Bobcats. He had fallen out of Charlotte's rotation, playing in just two of the Bobcats' 12 most recent games before the deadline.

Warrick is owed $4 million in 2012/13 and has a $4 million team option for 2013/14, according to ShamSports. If Orlando waives Warrick, his 2012/13 salary will still count against the salary cap. The Magic will be off the hook for his 2013/14 salary.

McRoberts's expiring contract is worth $3.14 million.
