J.J. Redick - Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports
Orlando is asking teams interested in trading for the sharpshooting two-guard to include a first-round draft choice.
One report in the days leading up to Thursday's NBA trade deadline indicated that the Orlando Magic's asking price for J.J. Redick is "steep," but another report early Tuesday morning from ESPN's Marc Stein specified just how steep.
According to Stein, the Magic are asking for "no less than a first-round pick" in exchange for Redick, the 28-year-old shooting guard with an expiring contract.
Redick is arguably Orlando's best and most consistent player, ranking second on the team in scoring and in assists while leading it in True Shooting. His future with the team is uncertain, given his pending free agency and the fact that Orlando already has one shooting guard, Arron Afflalo, on a long-term deal for above mid-level money.
The trade deadline is Thursday at 3 PM Eastern.
