Success eludes Magic at Philips Arena, home of the Hawks

Orlando has lost six straight games on the road in Atlanta.

When the Orlando Magic take the Philips Arena floor to face the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, they'll attempt to accomplish a task they haven't done in nearly four years: win in Atlanta.

Orlando has lost 10 straight regular-season games against the Hawks overall, and six straight at the site of Saturday's contest. Its last win in the Hawks' building came on Thanksgiving Day 2009, when Dwight Howard and Anthony Johnson combined to outscore Atlanta, 31-25, in the second half as Orlando cruised to a 93-76 win.

Orlando's drought at Philips Arena is so pronounced that none of the 10 Magic players who logged time in its last win there is still with the team. Three of them--Johnson, Jason Williams, and Mickaël Piétrus--are no longer in the NBA.

Prior to their current skid against the Hawks, the Magic had won eight of the previous 10 games in the head-to-head series. Orlando is 45-47 all-time against its rivals to the north and 15-30 in Atlanta's arena, be it Philips or the Omni.

The Magic look to end that streak of futility Saturday at 7:30 PM. Catch the game on Fox Sports Florida in the Orlando market.
