Glen Davis - Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

The veteran big man left the game in the first quarter and will not return.

Orlando Magic forward Glen Davis left Wednesday's game against the New York Knicks with an left-foot injury, according to team spokesman George Galante, and he will not return. The exact nature of the injury is not yet known.

Davis checked out of the game with 7:40 to play in the first quarter and limped to the locker room under his own power. He tallied two points and three assists before his exit.

Davis is averaging 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds for Orlando in 2012/13, both of which figures rank second on the team.

Orlando entered Monday's contest without the services of leading scorer Arron Afflalo, who has a strained left calf. Mounting a serious challenge against the Knicks, who have the East's second-best record, without Davis and Afflalo will certainly prove difficult. The Magic have lost six straight games and are winless in two tries against New York in 2012/13.
