But the fact is, once your star has decided to leave, the smart thing to do is to try to do the best damage control and position yourself for a comeback as soon as possible. So your trading options are to try to find a rental offer (Houston's, for example) or to trade him to one of those teams. What the Nets could offer has been pretty well disected here.
