D-league players: could we find another Lin or Green?

D-league players: could we find another Lin or Green?

March 16th: New Jersey Nets VS Orlando Magic. In this game there was great play from the Nets' Gerald Green that shined through the horrible play of the New Jersey Nets. Gerald Green was a former D-League player that won MVP at the D-League all-star game in Orlando. I personally saw him play at that game and thought to myself could the Magic pick him up because we could use a player like that without the huge price tag. As soon as I knew it, New Jersey picked him up. At that all-star game I saw potentially other great players that could use a team. I know most people believe D-league players don't translate to the NBA very well, but Green has proven otherwise in a couple of pretty great games for New Jersey. Whether you believe this or not I saw great potential in a D-league PG named Blake Ahearn with great passing ability and shooting ability (not to mention the best FT% in the game). I saw another Jeremy Lin in this player and you can see his stats at basketballreference.com where he averages about 20 points a game and 6 assists this season. With Magic cap woes and salary issues we should try signing him to a 10 day contract to see his worthiness in NBA because we could really use an extra PG with real talent.
