Josh McRoberts - Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE
After two ineffective starts by Jones, coach Jacque Vaughn called on the six-year veteran McRoberts to start in Minnesota.
Orlando Magic coach Jacque Vaughn tinkered with his starting lineup for his team's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night, moving DeQuan Jones to the bench in favor of six-year veteran Josh McRoberts.
Jones was Vaughn's first choice to start at small forward when Hedo Türkoğlu suffered a broken hand, which injury will sideline him for at least four weeks. In his two starts, Jones did not make an impact, averaging two points, one rebound, and one block in 14 minutes per game. In Tuesday's loss to the Chicago Bulls, All-Star forward Luol Deng torched Jones defensively.
McRoberts doesn't offer much offensively--he hardly looks for his own shot--but he's a willing passer and able rebounder. Though a natural power forward, he can play small forward in a pinch, and his length is an asset defensively.
