The Orlando Magic will be without starting point guard Jameer Nelson on Tuesday night against the Chicago Bulls, coach Jacque Vaughn announced following the morning shootaround, as the team captain has nagging groin and hamstring injuries which will force him to sit. His status for Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves is also in doubt. Second-year pro E`Twaun Moore will start in Nelson's place.
Moore, 23, made the first start of his career in Nelson's place on Sunday and came through in a big way, scoring 15 points, dishing six assists, and sinking all three of his three-point attempts as Orlando blew out the Phoenix Suns, 115-94.
Nelson started Orlando's season-opening win against the Denver Nuggets on Friday, tallying nine points and seven assists. He was a late scratch from Sunday's game. According to John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com, Nelson hopes to be healthy enough to play in the weekend's home-and-home series against the Brooklyn Nets.
