Magic's Glen Davis still looking for first win against Celtics

Glen Davis - Gregory Shamus

The power forward spent the first four years of his career in Boston. Since joining the Magic, he's winless in three tries against his former team.

The Orlando Magic continue their homestand Sunday against the Boston Celtics, for whom starting power forward Glen Davis played for four seasons. After Friday's victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers, he explained what a win against Boston would mean for him:

"It means a great deal to me to get this win [against the Celtics]," Davis said. "They're great team, a great organization that plays extremely hard and they compete. To get this win not only for our team but for myself would be great because I've always envisioned beating them but I haven't. I came close last year, but I haven't had a chance to beat them yet."

Boston swept all three games from Orlando in the lockout-shortened 2011/12 season, Davis' first in pinstripes. In Davis' first game against the Celtics, Boston limited the Magic to 56 points, their lowest total in team history. Just three nights later, the Celtics erased a 27-point deficit at Amway Center to pull out a 91-83 win. Orlando scored only 25 points after halftime.
