Rodney Stuckey - Troy Taormina-US PRESSWIRE

The veteran guard will return to the Pistons' starting lineup just in time for Detroit's matchup against Orlando.

Detroit Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey missed his team's first win of the season on Wednesday, but will return to Detroit's starting five when it hosts the Orlando Magic on Friday night, reports Keith Langlois of Pistons.com. Stuckey was too ill to participate in Tuesday's practice or Wednesday's game, but coach Lawrence Frank said Thursday the Eastern Washington product would start against the Magic.

Stuckey's averaging just 9.3 points per game and is shooting a frigid 28.2 percent from the field. He opened his sixth professional season by missing 22 of his first 23 shot attempts. In 15 career games against the Magic, the combo guard has averaged 13 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists on 38 percent shooting.

Kyle Singler, a rookie from Duke, started in Stuckey's place on Wednesday and contributed a career-best 16 points.
