A non Magic trade scenario that would change everything

I bring this up because there have been rumblings that the Lakers have an interest in D Will. This trade between the Lakers, Cleveland and New Jersey can change the entire dynamic of the Dwight Howard scenario. Lets hope something like this happens:

LAKERS: (Deron Williams + Anderson Verajao)

- for -

CAVALIERS: ( Brooks Lopez + Marshon Brooks + Memet Okur + Derek Fisher)

- for -

NETS: (Andrew Bynum + Ramon Sessions + Matt Barnes)

This takes the Lakers out of the Howard picture as they will have their frontcourt set for 3 years with Gasol and Verajao.

The Nets get their future center. Bynum was an all-american in nearby Plainsboro, NJ so it is very likely he resigns with Brooklyn. They also get a very competent PG in the package.

The Cavaliers turn Verajiao - who they love but is in the wrong stage of his nba career for the Cav's rebuilding process. In exchange they get a test run at Lopez as a replacement Center (they will have his bird rights). They get a very good young guard in Brooks plus a great vet PG to mentor Irving for a year. Plus they get a huge expiring salary in Okur which when paired with Jamison's $16m expiring makes them a huge player in the summer free agency market.

With DWill in a very good situation in LA it is very doubtful he leaves. Plus he currently lives in nearby San Diego. That puts a big glitch into Dallas' plans as well.

Interesting....

From the Cavs and Lakers point of view I think it helps both teams….but I don’t think the Nets get much value in return and they are giving up the most too. They lose Williams, Lopez, Brooks (who looks like he will be an impact player going forward), and Okur’s expiring contract. Getting Bynum and two role players would not be enough. I think would definitely want more. But good idea.

MagicLA I think you should be commended

This is one of the fairest trades I’ve ever seen. It also makes sense for all teams involved, including New Jersey. Irving can learn from Fisher, Jersey gets a “star” content (?) player, and LA tries to prolong Kobe’s career with Williams. Jersey also gets the added bonus of having a glue guy in Barnes.
The key to the whole trade to me is Bynum, and I don’t think that is a good thing.
