A win on Tuesday night with the new Orlando Magic squad in Philadelphia showed Magic fans the potential of this young team.
But that glimmer of hope quickly tarnished as they faced the Sacramento Kings at home on Wednesday.
The Kings picked apart the Magic's pick-and-roll defense and obliterated them consistently by scoring 30+ points each quarter en route to a 125-101 win.
And with that, Orlando allowed Sacramento to score a season-high 67 points in the first half with the help of six of its players pouring in double-digits.
The Kings found weaknesses in the Magic's ability to rebound the ball. They controlled the ball game by connecting 55 percent of their shots and recorded 31 assists as a team.
Nikola Vucevic, Orlando's double-double machine this season, tallied a season-low two rebounds and scored four points. It was arguably his worst performance in a Magic uniform.
The only bright spot on Wednesday was newly acquired forward Tobias Harris, who scored a game-high 23 points in the loss.
Orlando will host the Houston Rockets this Friday at 7 PM.
