I was wondering about this since I was looking at the contracts of the magic players and I'm not sure if a cancelled season wipes out years off of contracts or if the contracts are simply reset to what they were originally.

Such as, (not that this would ever happen), if the league lockout ended up being 5 years long... does that mean every single NBA player contract would now be expired and everyone would be a free agent?

Or does that mean that after 5 years once the lockout is done that the contracts are back to what they originally were with the same amount of years?

Just curious since I don't believe there will be a 2011 - 2012 season...
