Magic Fans:

Alright Magic fans, we all know that the 2010-2011 season came with high expectations, and ended with questions to if the Orlando Magic even remain an elite team. We can all see the giant dark cloud in the distance approaching in the summer of 2012. Obviously I am referring to Dwight's free agency. The Magic have a little over one year remaining to entice Mr. Howard to re-up with the Magic. Dwight is no dummy, he will leave if he feels he doesn't have the right talent around him to compete for a title, and who can blame him.

Otis Smith has three options to in order keep Dwight, it appears.

  1. He can keep this team intact, with another year under Stan's system and give this group a chance to go through a training camp together and see what they can do.
  2. Make a bold trade and acquire a Monta Ellis or a Andre Iguodola or someone like that and hope that that is enough to form into a title contender but not have any flexibility cap room wise.
  3. Trim as much payroll as possible, while essentially giving up a shot at a title, to make a run at Chris Paul or Deron WIlliams in the summer of 2012.

I wanted to get the opinions of the OPP Magic Blog Readers. Which of these paths would you want Otis and the Magic to travel?
