I think for Gilbert [Arenas], because he's had some knee problems, not doing the things outside of practice that keep him completely in great shape — his weight down, so that it's not a strain on the knee — were cumbersome getting back into it [....]
I don't think Gilbert for the first couple of months was in the greatest shape. I think toward the end you certainly saw some great games, but I don't think the consistency was there by any of them, and that's what we missed.

Whaaaat?
How dare Bob Vander Weide actually hold Gilbert Arenas responsible for how he plays. Everyone knows he just needs more minutes, and some couples therapy with Stan Van Gundy!!

He's a scoring threat still..........
If he indeed can get in better shape and gain confidence on his game, he still an scoring threat in this league; if he can create his own shots and accept his role coming out the bench he still can helping Orlando alot (offensively), but he won’t help nothing at all in defend, but hey for 17 millions a year is better something than nothing.
Gilbert has trained for two straight years with Tim Grover
maybe he’ll do it again for a third. Grover for each of these two summers said that Gil’s back, but I dunno if he ever will be close to what he once was….

Hopefully he does actually work out
With Tim Grover this summer like he said he will and get himself into good shape. And hopefully that will keep his knee from hurting as much and allow him to play better.
Hopefully. Seems to be Otis’ montra for these last 6 months.
