The Magical future

After a disappointing season and an early exit in the first round, I find myself looking for upgrades and somewhat of an overhaul. The Orlando Magic of 2010-2011 looked old most of the time. While at times they showed spry legs. It was not nearly enough. The current Magic roster lacks athleticism and scrappy players. The type of players that will get down and dig hard. In my opinion far to many times did i see players on the Magic that seemed to lack interest in the game. They lacked that youthful exuberance you see with up and coming teams. Below i have a short list of players fitting the needs of the guard positions. Those needs being athleticism and ability to score off the dribble.

  1. In this off-season it looks like the Memphis Grizzlies are looking to let loose OJ Mayo. There has been speculation that Memphis would be willing to deal him to the Magic for a sign and trade Jason Richardson and a second round pick. I feel that OJ Mayo has tremendous upside, with a need to relocate and have a coach that will push him to succeed.
  2. Another player that has caught my attention is second year player from LSU Marcus Thornton. I live in the Sacramento region, and watched all of their games that he played in. I was pleasantly surprised at his ability to get to the rim and finish among the bigs. He is a solid perimeter shooter as well as a underrated passer and defender. He is a restricted free agent. so Sacramento can match but the Maloofs seem to be unwilling to spend and money and with a conflict of position with Tyreke it seems they will not match any sizable offer, probably like 2-3 mil, from fan interaction with Marcus he is a likable athlete with a good attitude, with a desire to win and hatred of loosing. As well he does not take plays off.

In conclusion i would appreciate any comments on this post, with other possible acquisitions.
