Who is the real MVP part II
http://www.orlandopinstripedpost.com/2011/3/21/2063871/who-really-is-the-mvp
If you have time and want to read what I wrote before here is the link. This one will be much shorter since I already did a pretty long post before. Let's jump right into it.
5. Derrick Rose- Human Highlight film this year. Still bad on defense despite what people say. (If Jameer Nelson is apparently not a good point guard, why was he able to torch Rose yesterday? Thank you end of discussion)
4. Kobe Bryant-While he is not the best player, nor is he the best closer, nor is the best 2 Guard in the world, he is still Kobe Bryant. Devastating scorer and when he plays within the game his team is practically unstoppable.
3. Chris Paul- New entry but when you look at it , he shoots better from the Field, 3, FT, has more assists, more steals, and is the one person in the NBA who you can legitamely say his team would be worst than Cleveland without him. Still the best Point Guard in the world even on one knee. Just amazing.
And this may sound like a cop out, but I actually have co MVP's this year. I know this is a Magic website and we obviously hate LeBron but if I am going to be subjective I can not say that he and Dwight have separated from each other. They are the two best players in the league, in the world, are both devastating on offense and defense. Two highest PER's. Have their teams in top ten in both offense and defense. You literally can not defend either one. Both carry the weight of franchises(LeBron carries the league to be honest) and both have huge pressure to play their best night in and night out. When their teams lose according to some media it seems it is either LeBron's fault or Dwight is holding back. Yes LeBron has Wade and Bosh, but the Heat team after that is junk. Without LeBron that team is probably 7th best in the East, 6th at best. Magic would be GSW of the East Coast and would likely sneak it at the 8th spot. Well one of them would still be top 4 because one would still both win the division(I would still take them both to beat the Hawks, since the Hawks have no coach, no fans, and no heart outside of Horford.)
Thoughts?

Rose's defense reminds me of J-Rich.
You can tell he buys-in and he’s trying but he just doesn’t have the defensive reactionary technique. I would have Rose in the top 3 though just because I do agree to the “story” aspect of MVP to an extent. Plus he’s an amazing player and I can’t take that away from him.
I think Paul is underrated this year as to his accomplishments so I would put him in there in the top 5 as well.
But you’ve got it with the top two. It’s LeBron and Dwight that affect the game more than any other players.
The intensity has to go up, up! Not down...UP! -Stan Van Gundy
Roses Defense is underrated
He plays a very tough position to guard.( without Handchecking quick pgs are very tough to stop) He is also the primary scorer for his team so he really needs to be careful not to get into foul trouble. Thibs defenses usually foul a lot and a re very physical.
I know nelson went off on him the other day but its a sample size of one. The entire Magic team played well I don’t think that makes the Bulls an overrated defensive team.
Ryan Anderson looked like an All-Star out there.

Bulls fans we get it
You guys think he is a good defender. Upgrading from terrible to bad does not make you a great or underrated defender. He is still bad
Roll Bass and War Ryno for me
not bad or good but above average
he is an above average defender and eventually will probably be an elite defender one day but people make him out to be this awful defender which isn’t true.( it was true but he has definitely improved.)
the difference in his game from last year to this year is light years.

He is not above average.
Above average defenders are great defenders. If you want I will give you he is average. Happy??

As a Bulls fan
I would say he’s average, but whether he is less than average or simply average isn’t really important. I don’t think you’ll find a lot of Bulls fans saying he’s a “good” defender.
I’m surprised to hear you say you hate LeBron but he carries the weight of his franchise and the entire league. Anything he’s been “carrying” since his ludicrous exhibition in narcissistic “I love me some me” The Decision…and subsequent announcing of winning 70 games, 10 championships…is all self inflicted. The media coming after him is his own fault is what I’m trying to say. And Wade hasn’t helped either trying to play the victim.

I hate leBron strictly as a fan of the magic
He has been on the two teams, aside from Boston, Orlando has truely seen as rivals. But I love leBron the player and did not mind the decision. Only thing I hated was the following:
“Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven…”. And yes LeBron does carry the league. 7 million people watched the decision. I’m not going to be the hypocritical one of those and say LeBron does not matter. That’s just stupid.
Roll Bass and War Ryno for me
Also not sure why everyone hates the decision
All the advertisement revenue went to the boys and girls club. Egotistical? Probably, but folks we are talking about professional athletes who we pay 100 bucks to see. Grow up.
Roll Bass and War Ryno for me
I understand what you're saying here.
Certainly LeBron will always be a magnet of attention and has many fans since he is so good a player. That is different from saying he deserves or doesn’t the media attention. I never meant to imply at all he doesn’t matter or doesn’t generate a lot of money for the NBA. I would disagree with you wholeheartedly about The Decision but that’s a different topic.

I just want the playoffs to start.
We’ve beaten an MVP with the top seed who everyone was crowning prematurely before. Hopefully history can somewhat repeat itself.

I read that.
At the time I was ambivalent. After that ridiculous troll fest in the Bulls post-game thread… I’m now locked into playoff mode. I’m even growing out the playoff beard.
