Hedo Turkoglu = X-Factor?
This is my first time posting, so I wanted to start of by saying hey! Hope this isn't too bad :)
Basically, the point of this post was for me to see how other Magic fans feel about the statement I am about to make.
Hedo Turkoglu is the key to the Magic being successful this postseason. His production is more essential than any other Magic player, bar none.
There, I said it. Now, I love Dwight, Jameer, and the rest of the crew as much as the next guy.. But even I can't deny that this overpaid, slow, castoff from PHX and TOR is THE x-factor for the Orlando Magic. When he is attacking the basket and hitting his shots, we are almost completely unstoppable. We can win with Dwight just grabbing boards and blocking shots, regardless of how many points he scores. Jameer is also important, but disappears often and doesn't cost us wins. Same with J-Rich, JJ, Gilbert, and anyone else. Granted, we need production from multiple players. But, none of those players' production is as needed as Turk's. He can win the game as easily for us as he can lose it. When he is off, we lose. When he is on, the Magic are nearly unbeatable. No one else single-handedly wins or loses games on a game-to-game basis.
Of course, without Dwight we would be NOTHING. But I'm not arguing that Turk is out team's MVP.. Rather, he is just the player whose production most closely correlates to the Magic's W/L column.
Feel free to share your opinions as well! I would love to hear what other Magic fans feel about this! Also, hit up the poll! Thanks :)

I agree
Dwight IS the team but Turk must play well for the Magic to advance past the second round. If he plays the defense he is capable of against Deng and passes/shoots the way he has been I would say we are in pretty good shape. In 09 Turk and Rashard (we all miss his 09 shape) made most of the dagger 3 pointers to close games and propel this team to the Finals. He can do it again
Magic Fan since '92
Yeah
Not to mention that Hedo’s shooting above 40% on his 3’s, I really think that this year might be our year. Considering we’re playing Atlanta (should be an easy series for us) and probably Chicago the 2nd round, our chances of going back to the ECF are pretty good as long as Hedo keeps on producing. Talking about us going any further right now won’t matter much until the playoffs start, though I’m really looking forward to seeing us in the Finals this year
I am not sure. The post is talking about x-factor but the poll title is "Who is most key to the Magic winning?"
It depends on the definition of x-factor. X-factor usually goes to a player which is not a first tier player, but could affect the outcome of games. By that definition, Hedo could be an x-factor, but key to the Magic winning? That is a totally different matter.
I agree with you that Turk is instrumental to a deep-playoff run,
but I think success hinges on Jameer, because while I don’t think Turk wins the battle against his competition in the EC, ’Meer can beat Hinrich & whoever Miami throws up, while holding his own against D. Rose and Rondo. And in the case of Rose and Rondo, as they go, so goes their team.
It’s a fun question, and a good post.
I guess that's the way the whole durned human comedy keeps perpetuatin' itself.
I feel like Dwight still is the most important player on the team
If he isn’t dominating the interior on both ends, it is difficult for this team to win consistently. I do feel like Good Turk is necessary for us to have a shot a winning it all. If we have Bad Turk, we won’t win it, imo.
"I never look at the points," Howard said. "Rebounds and blocks are what win games for me."

Agree, Dwight is the man
But he’s not an x-factor, because the odds are really high that he’ll dominate without exception during the playoffs. Turk? Yeah, I expect Good Turk in the playoffs most nights, and a few Evil Turk nights leading up to the big show.
I couldn't agree more.
I always liked Turk, but never thought he is so essential to our success until we replaced him with Carter two years ago.
