I think it's a long shot
for the reasons Robbins lists in his article. But from what I’ve heard Vazquez could really help. I admit that I don’t catch a lot of Barcelona games.

As it stands, we are so thin on the frontline that chasing a man named "Fran" is in our best interests right now.
I don’t know what are the implications within the current rules, but the possibility of signing him with guaranteeing the 2011/12 salary – in the case of a lockout – should be seriously considered. We have wasted money like a drunken sailor, why not put another couple of millions on the table?
I say: Bring the man.
He’s better than Gortat, in defense AND offense. He can hold his own against the likes of Garnet and Gasol. He could potencially give the Magic the missing element for the Twin Tower configuration. He could be much more than Gortat; he could be a real complement to Howard, playing at the 4 position.
The Magic NEED his height, rebounding and offensive capabilities; Otis has been looking like crazy for someone like him. This is it!
I say: Do whatever is necesary to bring the man to Orelando… now!
Where do you get the idea that he's better than Gortat?
I think you’re vastly overrating Fran here by saying he’d hold his own against KG and Gasol.
Orlando Magic. Oregon Ducks. Seattle Mariners. Jacksonville Jaguars.
he would be better than the backup center we have now
Arenas needs to hurry up and shoot himself (out of this slump).
I'm thinking Rafeal.Uehara would be overjoyed at this

Do it up.
Bring him in, not like Orton is ever gonna make the team.

I guarantee Orton will be on the team next year.
Because he’s already signed thru next season.

Fran....
…you could just wait until the CBA is settled to come over. You know, that wouldn’t be that hard. I swear, Fran Vasquez is a dope. I’ll never understand his decision making.

No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
If Omri has 12 games with 85+ TS% (20+ mins only) on the season, I will send RikSmits a slice of Cherry Pie with real Californian cheese pasteurized locally in Washington state.
I gather it would not be that simple. If he is not coming to the Magic, he would have multi-year offers from European suitors to consider.
I'm sure he can find a one year offer if he wants it

But why risk the security of a long-term contract?
What if he tears his ACL while on the one-year contract? I don’t see the incentive for him to sign a short contract.
Otis Smith, what you've just done is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard of. At no point in your rambling, incoherent trades were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this blog is now dumber for having witnessed it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I'm not saying he should or would
Just that he could.
