Let's hope he does better than he did the last time he started...

Don’t take that as Ryno-Hate…I’m a huge fan of Anderson. When he stays focused and energetic out there, he’s Kevin Love-ish.

Ry’s last year at Cal, he actually scored more than Love

I actually laughed people who were sleeping on Ryan's ability to score

he lead the PAC 10 in scoring, yes, the same PAC10 with Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love and Orange Juice Mayonaisse.

Ryno on Chris Bosh

Should be interesting. I have a feeling he is going to rise to challenge, this is the one of the bigger games of his career, where the team will need him to score, rebound, and play Defense. I hope I like what I see.

yes this is a great measuring stick

for Ryan. He has all the ability in the world and it will be on display tonight. He is tougher then people give him credit for and has that natural rebounding intuition. Remember HE is the reason we were so comfortable getting rid of Lewis.

lol

I can’t believe there is a Earl Clark mixtape. But this is his chance. I think he can contribute, espcially on man to man defense.

Off topic, do the Magic have any trade exemptions?

Gracias Evan

I wonder if they will use it because i have racked my brain to see who would want Chris Duhon and there are not many teams that need backup PGs that can’t shoot.

Earl Clark is a stud

he’s flying under the radar just like R.A. His athleticism for his size is what makes him dangerous and eventually he will become a fan favorite.

A glimpse at him owning Lewis with the Suns, and probably another reason for Lewis’ dismissal and our willingness to add him to our squad after bad reviews with the Phoenix.

Its not an indicment on Shard. But Shard’s contract vs the way he was playing made him a tough pill to swallow. So of course cheaper, younger guys that have potential to accomplish the same if not more than Shard, definitely made sense.

For Clark? That's way stretching it. Clark is a promising - but yet second year - player and we should be happy if he comes close to Lewis' storied career.

What irritates me with people who pile on Lewis is that he had served us well – especially in that run to the Finals – and now is gone. The least we could do is to appreciate his service and move on. The other side of the matter is that we basically traded his contract for a worse contract while thinning our frontline, and that stings badly.

Let's hope his contract does not die in vain

By which I mean…Otis might be doing what he said he might do way before the trade: take some short term losses for long term gains. It could be that he’s selling this season in order to buy a dynasty in the coming off-season. That would make Gil a pawn, but aren’t they all?

You don't make sense at all.

I am intrigued by your assertion “That would make Gil a pawn, but aren’t they all?”. Are you forgetting that we are stuck with Arenas’ contract for 3 years to follow this one? So how about Smith being the pawn on King Arenas’ chess board?

Then, how trading Rashard for Arenas is selling this season? I thought Smith brought Arenas in to win it all this season, right? But then what do I know? Nobody is smart enough to read through Maestro’s mind, in your view. We just have to pause and give in to the mastery without knowing what it is. How reassuring!

I'm not as concerned about Ryan tonight as I am the perimeter guys.

Are they even reasonably going to guard the Heat’s perimeter scorers?

No

Which makes Ryans game tonight (and Earl’s) that much more important.

by gatorboi352 on Feb 3, 2011 4:04 PM EST up reply actions

consider the "Heat's perimeter scorers"

are arguably the two best scorers in the NBA, I say they struggle. But everyone does against them.

The main thing is can Dwight stay out of foul trouble? He is our only shot due to the fact that both James and Wade get going by getting to the rim. He is the only center in the league that contests, and alters their shots enough to force them into putting up a higher percentage of jumpers then normal.

I'm concerned about one thing only: defense

The Sentinel ran a juvenile poll this morning online asking who Orlando’s biggest rival is (Miami or Boston). The only answer I could come up with is, their own defense. I’m wondering if it’s more an issue of attitude or ability at this point.

In games the Magic won in November, the losers averaged 88.5 points with a 12-5 record.

In games the Magic won in January, the losers averaged 93.5 points with a 10-6 record. They were 1-5 on the road and lost only to Detroit at home.

LeBron is looking to make a statement in Orlando tonight. If that doesn’t wake up the defense, what will?
