[FC Barelona] has offered [Fran Vazquez] a four-year contract, but Orlando wants him to play with them in the NBA. His agent is in Madrid and he has already met with [FC Barcelona] and Magic representatives.

You are wrong........
That what was exactly San Antonio was thinking about Luios Scola before he came to the NBA and traded his rights to Houston and look now Scola is one of the best PF in the league….. Do not judge Fran Vazquez before see him playing in the NBA.
This would mean more if I didn't know his draft history...
I hope I get to be surprised!
Go Magic/Bucs/Gators/Rays!

Actually, how would we go about doing this?
Do we sign him based off of the rookie salary scale?
by Ol' Uncle Munnerlyn on Feb 13, 2011 5:19 PM EST reply actions
Nope
That only applies for three seasons after he was drafted.

Although
Orlando can still use a scale contract, they just don’t have to.

Could we acquire Fazwuez now or
do we have to wait to the summer to get him?
Summer
Barcelona won’t be done with their season until May.

I still don't think Fran will ever come over but if he did...
what would our projected front court rotation be for next season?
He could
But Orlando is stacked at the 4.

That's a pretty solid big-man rotation.
Too bad I highly doubt Vazquez will ever man up and come over to play in the NBA.

If he would come over it would be amazing still
But I have to ask who are the players that we could have picked over Vazquez?
Danny Granger
Nate Robinson, David Lee, Brandon Bass, Ronny Turiaf, Monta Ellis.

The ideal draft
Would have been Granger and Ellis. Couple of pretty useful guys…

Yeah, seriously.
If you think we feel stupid about Vazquez, imagine how Atlanta feels about Marvin Williams or Detroit feels about Darko.
Otis Smith, what you've just done is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard of. At no point in your rambling, incoherent trades were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this blog is now dumber for having witnessed it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

It would be awesome if he came to play here
I could finally dust off my #17 Fran Vazquez home white.

I'm more concerned about the now.
But this is exciting. All of a sudden the Magic frontcourt can be stacked again.
Bass/Anderson/Clark/Vasquez/Howard
Bring Fran Vazquez......
Players like Luois Scola, Jorge Garbajosa and Oberto among others came to the NBA in their late twenties and played very good for their respective teams perhaps not as an all star caliber, but acceptable. Hey, why no Fran Vazquez too?
Pshh, Please.
Fran ain’t coming to the NBA. Even if he did, he couldn’t beat out Earl Clark for a spot in the rotation. The word “Fran” in Spanish means “SOFT.” Go Magic.

I guess that's the way the whole durned human comedy keeps perpetuatin' itself.
