3 Team Deal: ORL, NOH, ATL

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7e9g5m7

Magic trade Arenas to the Hawks for Joe Johnson. Magic get a nice 2 guard, if not an overpaid one. Hawks Amnesty Gil and get out from Johnson's contract, saving about 50 million.

Magic trade Redick, Nelson, and Bass plus picks to the Hornets for CP3. Magic get Paul (self explanatory) and the Hornets get a decent deal from one of the few teams who will trade for CP3 without an extension.

Lineup:

CP3/Duhon

Johnson/Q/Liggins

Turk/Q/Harper/Liggins

Anderson/Harper

Howard/FA/Orton

That is definitively a championship roster. Do you think NOH and ATL make this trade?

It's my understanding you can't use amnesty on a traded player.

Can’t find a link to confirm this, but I believe Evan said it, but I could be wrong.

Please leave a message, I'm busy hiding my cat from TGS.

From Zach Lowe’s Twitter:

Clarification from league: Teams CANNOT use amnesty on a player they acquire via trade, even if player’s contract dates to prior CBA

Buzz on the Hornets boards

Is that to trade Paul to Orlando they’d want Orton and for the Magic to take back Ariza’s contract.

Something along the lines of:

To Orlando: Chris Paul, Trevor Ariza

To New Orleans: Nelson, Redick, Bass, Orton, 2 first round picks

seriously???

I would do that. In half a heart beat. Half of a half.

Done, SOMEONE SEND THIS TO OTIS AND THE GM IN NOLA

No way New Orleans does this.

No way in hell. The draft picks aren’t worth much, Bass isn’t worth much to a rebuilding team, ditto with Redick and Nelson.

No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....

Better than NY's offer

It’s funny how ESPN doesn’t even have us as a potential suitor for CP3 in the rumor mill… like he really would rather go to Golden State than Orlando

Hedo is the player who should get the most heat for our first round exit, not Arenas

New Orleans is in the same boat as Orlando

They will lose Paul and gain nothing if they dont make a move. You could do alot worse than that offer

With the 15th pick, the Miami Dolphins select John Stamos....'s brother

I probably know Judo! How many of you can make the same boast?

by Souwantmyname on Dec 4, 2011 8:46 PM EST up reply actions

exactly

if CP3 is open to coming to Orlando, the Hornets would be wise to choose our assets over NY’s assets

Shard for Arenas for Johnson?
Maybe after that we can trade Johnson’s contract for Michael Vick? I know, he’s not officially a basketball player, but he has some experience with being paid more that he’s worth.

Then we turn around and trade Vick for Nicholas Cage’s contracts for 7 out of every 8 movies he’s in.

For the love of Pete, let’s just get out from under Arenas one way or another. Amnesty the guy or let him play out the duration of the contract-but don’t swap him for another overpaid, underperforming player.

I don't get the whole 'pop-tart cats pooping rainbows thing,' but then, I'm old. So, there it is.

If you want a three team trade with NOLA, Orl, and Atl why not do one that makes sense?

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7fvcbw4

New Orleans can market Josh Smith, he gets a fresh chance, and everyone they get can get traded for more pieces, i.e. late first round draft picks in a super loaded draft.(Jameer Nelson to the Lakers for a first and JJ Redick to the Bulls for a first)

Atlanta finally gets a center and gets rid of the headache to them that is J Smoove.

Orlando obviously gets Chris Paul. Plug Ariza into the vacant two guard spot if J Rich is not kept. I would personally keep J Rich have Ariza become the backup, Q goes back to bench warmer while Harper becomes the backup 3. Orlando still gets to keep Ryan Anderson in this scenario. Resign Clark to be the backup and let Chris Paul do what he does best….make players better. Dwight averages 30 ppg, 17 rbs, 3 blks wins the MVP and wins Finals MVP and he and Paul resign and retire as Magic players.

If Atlanta is going to trade Josh Smith, it won't be for someone that ADDS salary to their team.

You can't reason with stupid.

I dont think they are keeping Crawford

So this is their best option at getting a legit center.

You wouldn't trade JJ for CP3????

Have you lost your mind?

Impossible.

A) You can’t amnesty a player you trade for after the new CBA.
B) The Hawks would laugh
C) The Hornets aren’t getting nearly enough for Cp3.

Hornets

are getting more from us than what they would get from NY
