Out of thte box question...
Is there any prohibition on the number of picks that can be traded in one trade?
If not, the Magic should offer Jameer and up to the next 10 years worth of 1st and 2nd round draft picks for Chris Paul. It is clear the NBA wants draft picks for Paul and youth.
There is no reason for the Magic not to offer as many picks as NO wants.
Why? Because with Paul, the Magic in theory wouldn't need any great draft picks for years to come.
The Magic could lock down a young, top talent linup for easily the next 5 years and beyond.
PG: Paul
SG: Reddick
SF:
PF: Anderson
C: Dwight
All 4 of those are arguably not even hitting the prime so have 5+ great years.
The bench and SF would be some combination of: Davis, Liggins, Wafer, Orton, and a few other minor pieces. It's a bit of the Heat model, but with better players I think

You can't trade picks on consecutive years.
And New Orleans wants to rebuild in the next 2/4 years, they need picks for their next two drafts. They need young talent now, not in six years.
We gave away 1 pick for Turk (ouch), so we can only offer NO one pick they could be interested in (and if we traded for CP3 that would be a lame pick)
Thanks, answers my question
I did not know the no consecutive pick trade rule
