Hear Me Out Bout Dwight

Ok so after seeing the interview today, my initial reaction was more sadness, anger, and depression. However, after thinking about it some more, I realized that we do still have a chance to keep Dwight in town, be it a very little chance. The fact that Otis Smith re-signed Jason Richardson today, and traded Bass for Glen Davis (someone Dwight wanted) makes me think that he still believes that he can acquire the right pieces to convince Dwight to stay. It wouldn't make sense to resign J rich and give Davis a 4 year deal if Otis didnt think he could still convince Dwight to stay. If Otis thought Dwight was 100% gone, he wouldn't of done those moves because it would be wiser to get below the salary cap and sign real stars in free agency. It seemed as if Dwight can still be convinced to stay if Otis goes out and gets either CP3, Ellis, Josh Smith, Iguoadola, or even Steve Nash. Hopefully Otis does all these moves before the first game of the season so that we can have a good record by all star break. And if we do, I truely believe Dwight can still be convinced to stay, as long as we can prove to him we are a good team that can advance deep into the playoffs.

I don't think it's necessary to convince Howard to stay.

If the goal is for the Magic to win a championship then the Magic should just trade Howard.

If the goal is to make Howard have a Patrick Ewing-like career and put up big numbers and have his number retired then maybe.

But Iguodala, Smith, Ellis, Nash aren’t going to be enough to win a championship. (separately… I mean, all four would be pretty ridiculous.)

But if we’re just trying to convince him to stay so that we don’t have to deal with the realities of him leaving. Then what are we truly accomplishing for him or us?

Dwight Is Going

Unfortunately I don’t think Howard wants to be here anymore. I really don’t think winning is the most important thing to him. He wants to go to a bigger market and make his commercials first. He wants to win but he doesn’t want to win in Orlando obviously. The Orlando Magic front office is a joke unfortunately. Maybe the Magic would have had a better chance to keep him if they had a general manager with a brain. Otis Smith is by far the worst GM in basketball and he has proven it time and time again. Nobody wastes money and draft picks like Otis Smith!

Personally I think Dwight is acting selfishly. The city of Orlando has supported him from day 1 and he’s had it pretty good. This just shows how little he cares about the fans that have bought his jerseys and supported him from the day he was drafted. But selfish pretty much seems to be the theme of todays NBA superstar.

i really dont think that

Otis will trade Dwight until the all star break. Even Dwight said that weird line that he would be ok starting the season here. He is still gonna give 100% like he said in the interview. If the players around him show up, and we add soem nice pieces, i really beleive he can be convinced to stay.. hopefully people stop twitting him negative stuff though

I really wanted that rumored Richardson for Iguodala trade to happen.

It would kind of be a return to form back to the Finals team. Back when the Magic were the best defensive team in the league. I was all excited for a couple seconds.

Otis also probably thought he could acquire the right pieces for Dwight to stay last season.

Instead we got Arenas and Turkoglu. Otis has no clue what he’s doing.

I like to watch.

He needs to be traded now!

The circus would be too distracting if he stayed longer. I do believe the Nets crossed a boundary, and I hope the Magic pursue tampering charges against them, and The NBA punishes them by not allowing them to sign him as a free agent. This would allow us to get a fair return, and not be muscled into taking whatever the Nets want to offer because they know Howard wants to sign with them.
