Amidst all of the crazy trade rumors, free agent signings, CP3 and D12 scandals, and David Stern generally messing everything up, one of our former beloved players is on the move.
The Phoenix Suns in a salary dump, traded Mickael Pietrus to the Toronto Raptors for a conditional 2nd round draft pick. For Peaches, I like the move. He's a role player at best, but at least on a team like the Raptors, he should see the floor more than he has for the Magic and Suns. I wish him all the best.
One of the things I find interesting is to now look back on our trade this past year with the Suns. At the end of the day, all we did was turn Gortat and a 1st round pick into Hedo. In the process, we had the J-Rich experiment (which definitely didn't live up to its expectations) and we lost some of our best trading chips from this move. In my opinion, this trade was a terrible decision because now, instead of having Gortat as security in the event of Dwight leaving town, we are left with our trade for Big Baby and we've lost one of our best trading pieces (Bass) in the process. Don't get me wrong, Davis is a good player but I would take the Polish Hammer and Brandon Bass over Davis any day.
Anyway, good luck to Peaches and welcome to town Big Baby!
